Blurring the Line: Workers in the New Tech Economy. Featuring a diversity career reception and plenary Panel for the NLRB's 3-part series "On the Precipice: Workers in the New Tech Economy"
Labor and employment law is an expanding field. How do technology and platforms like Uber or TaskRabbit impact our ideas about who is an employee and who is an employer, and who is in control in these relationships? What rights and benefits can such a worker expect? What protections or safety nets does a non-traditional labor force miss out on and who should bear the burden of that cost?
Panelists include: Professor Veena Dubal, EEOC General Counsel David Lopez, NY Taxiworkers Alliance Co-Founder Bhairavi Desai, Taxi Driver and organizer Mohamad Anwar Zadran. Moderated by Judge Donna M. Ryu.
